A Wake Boarding Coach Finally Takes a Nap
Paul Wideyes, a wake boarding coach from Palm Beach, FL finally took a nap on Saturday, October 11th, 2025. Since then, the town has questioned his integrity as a wake coach, as he has dedicated his life teaching children how to stay awake during board games.
TNR’s on-site commentator spoke to one of Paul’s longtime students, Ty Erred, for more details on the mishap. When asked about how Paul took a nap in the first place, Erred responded, “I heard that his friend asked him to play Mancala. Since it isn’t technically a board game, he just wasn’t prepared for what was coming.”
Paul’s workshops in Fort Noc Turnal Ville, FL were widespread and included every board game under the sun: Monopoly, The Game of Life, Ticket to Ride, Chutes and Ladders, Candy Land, etc. His one hole he couldn’t fill: Mancala, which sent him into the depths of REM. Our on-site commentator got the chance to speak with Paul and asked, “Did you have any notable dreams?” He responded, “I don’t remember my dreams.” Riveting stuff.
If you or someone you know is struggling with staying awake during board games, Paul Wideyes is the man for you. Because of his unfortunate nap, he has now added Mancala into his syllabus and lesson plan for his courses. When asked for a promotional statement from Paul about his program, he said, “These classes are for anyone, truly. No experience is needed. Sometimes we play board games, sometimes we meditate, and on fun days we go out on my boat. I'm pretty good at wakeboarding.”
