How to Not Feel like a Loser WHEN your Adult Friends Text They ‘Aren’t Available to Play Roblox Right Now’

It’s Friday night, and you are cuddled oh so tightly in your room. Ahhh. A night to yourself. Work is tomorrow at 8AM, so it’ll be an early morning, but hey, this doesn’t mean you can't get into some sweet crazy action this evening. 

Laptop, boiling hot on your thighs. That beautiful Roblox white square spins hypnotically, and before you is a screen of colors and images that are full of opportunity and pure innocent fun. Dress To Impress. Bloxville. Vice City. Catch a murderer. Nail Salon Tycoon. The world is your absolute oyster, and you are so ready to touch that pearl.

But god!! No!!!! Fuck!!!

Absolutely none of your friends are available to go online!

Jackson texted he’s working late serving at Texas Roadhouse, probably making at least $600 within 4 hours of work. Isabella texted she totally would join, but she is having dinner with her boyfriend, and they are probably going to have some really sensual and thoughtful sex afterwards. And Cierra, god damnit, your Roblox go-to,  just texted she is fricken busy playing a show with her really cool all femme queer representing band in some weird underground house where everyone’s gender is ambiguous and the floor is covered in PBR.

And then it hits. 

“Oh… I’m a fucking loser.”

And this is okay. This feeling is normal. And what you need to do is utterly accept that :

you are a loser.

Sit with it. Give yourself permission.  Give yourself forgiveness. Being a loser is a feeling, a state of mind.  Soon it will end, and soon you can take power back into your life.

There will be moments in your life that your friends are going to have way cooler Friday night plans than you. But guess what?? There will be other nights where YOU (yes you) will have way cooler Friday night plans than your friends. It’s the yin and yang of life and it keeps balance in our universe. So take a deep breath, and let go of that shame! Log on to Roblox and bully some 9 year old’s outfits on Dress To Impress.
