Socrates and Plato

The sexual tension between them is crazy!! Fun fact and a little bit of a Greek ancient history lesson for you. Socrates was Plato’s teacher (409 BCE) and Plato lovedddd him. When Socrates was executed by the jury of the Athenian people, Plato was SO sad and convinced that the idea of rhetoric was EVIL because it caused people to be convinced to do evil, like kill his beloved professor Socrates. So! Plato wrote many books, using Socrates as the main character to totally diss the art form of rhetoric. Plato even wrote a book titled, “Phaedrus”, which was about a ‘fictional’ young attractive student named Phaedrus who was one of Socrates' students. In the book, Socrates taught Phaedrus how to achieve wisdom and power and still be an ethical virtuous man, but get this… in the book, these two characters shared… a sexual relationship, and Plalto included hot steamy passionate scenes between the two characters, Socrates, an old philosopher, and Phaedrus, a young student! Scandalous! But also, how can one not argue that Plato potentially wrote this book because a) he and Socrates did have a sexual relationship and this book was a secret confession, or b) Plato wishes that he and Socrates had a sexual relationship and quite literally wrote fanfiction about his own desires. Anyways, this would be an awesome costume to do.
