Forgettable, Nothing Coworker Promoted to Hot Coworker After Driving Woman Home

"It'll happen when you least expect it" is a common dead horse many happy people like to beat around their prospectless friends, but for Miranda Oranjus, it finally happened. Michael Fassbender, a fake name for her real coworker, fulfilled Miranda's request for a ride home when it was revealed that her train called in sick for work. Miranda's opinion of the soft spoken, never assertive Michael was similar to that of the workplace's wall paint. She was sure it existed, but never remembered it until it was pointed out to her, and would be promptly forgotten. But after this car ride, her opinion of Michael would be more similar to work itself: she became haunted and consumed by the next time she would be present in front of him, sleep being the only reprieve from her constant craving.

Michael and Miranda had the benefit of traveling against rush hour traffic, heading into the city when many were running away. Miranda did not know much about cars, being a plain simple city girl knowing only of transit. Michael, however, had the beastly car tamed in the palm of his hands. Gripping the shifting thing pushing it and making the car roar and go faster, he would weave in between lanes, grinning at her when he was able to escape cutting it close. She was grateful to be alive, thinking he's the hero, completely forgetting he's the one trying to kill her. Every one of his maneuvers felt like he was throwing her out of his car and into the traffic, but every one of his saves felt like the safe, warm embrace of a reliable lover. He takes the car on the shoulder avoiding traffic, and eventually starts grinding the car's axles against the highway guardrails. He's a skater too now, hot. His experience and thrill seeking had Mirannda soaked through the seat, the passenger side tires leaving a snail trail on the highway.

Miranda fell for this unassuming man, who became something to her that evening. Michael had also spent the entire car ride recounting the entire chronology of the Despicable Me movies and associated Minions franchise to Miranda, who was listening in earnest to it, without getting the slightest ick. She found herself charmed by his easy sense of humor, making her easy for him. The next day and forever, Miranda swung by his desk no less than twice an hour, and begged him to take her home everyday much to his own pleasure. He was finally being seen. Michael is clueless regarding his promotion, but appreciates the new and only attention he gets now at the office.
